"At Make-A-Wish® Arizona, we are more than a great place to work — our work is life- changing. Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. More than 40 years ago the inspiration for Make-A-Wish began with one little boy's wish to be a police officer. Today, together with our volunteers, donors, staff and supporters, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 500,000 life-changing wishes and transformed countless lives. We at Make-A-Wish Arizona are extremely team-oriented. We are striving to create an inclusive and diverse office that incorporates teamwork, open communication, and strategic leadership. We are looking for passionate individuals who share the same passion for building trust, improving communication, and creating strategies for success."
Make-A-Wish Arizona is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt Arizona corporation. Every dollar our chapter receives aids us in our mission to grant wishes of children with critical illnesses. Our financial statements have been audited annually and past statements are available for review upon request. At Make-A-Wish, our mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our families and medical professionals share with us that a wish becomes an important part of the healing process, helping children manage, and even overcome, their illnesses. For Fiscal Year 2022 (Sept. 1, 2021 to Aug. 31, 2022), we continued to embrace change as we worked with national and local medical experts like the Centers for Disease Control and the Make-A-Wish America Medical Advisory Council to expand the type of wishes we could offer to wish kids National travel once again was offered as a wish opportunity for kids who wished to get out of town, though many wish kids continued to request local wish experiences such as playhouses, playsets, backyard renovations and room renovations. Celebrity wishes were based on the health and wellness of everyone involved -- some in-person and some virtual and shopping spree wishes and gaming computers continued to be an important request for those kids who were immunocompromised and couldn't get out. As the health and safety of our wish kids remain a top priority, our staff works with each wish kid and wish family to create a wish that will bring lasting hope and joy to their lives.
